My Wishes For Writers

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I have other wishes for you at the beginning of this new year, too.

I wish...
  • that I could wave a magic wand and make each one of you a widely published, successful author
  • that this will be your best writing year ever
  • that the problems you had when writing in 2018 will be resolved
  • that every submission you make receives an acceptance
  • that you start getting fan letters from your readers
  • that you never run out of ideas for new stories or poems
  • that you have plenty of time to devote to writing
  • that you never experience Writer's Block
  • that your sentences are strong, snappy and scintillating
  • that you try something new in your writing world
  • that you become very organized
  • that you continue to grow as a writer
  • that you will help other writers in whatever way you can
  • that you find inspiration on a regular basis
  • that this is the year you will write your Family Storie

Yes, I do wish all the above for my readers and writing friends but we all know that a lot of my wishes for writers are going to require some hard work from you. No one has ever said writing is easy. We might enjoy writing but still have to work hard to achieve satisfaction when a piece is finished.

Writers are no different than painters or architects or sculptors. We have the passion to create but we must also have the persistence and patience it takes to do so. We need to develop our own work ethic and use it. Besides all the above, we need to create some organization in our writing life, too.

Whatever regrets we experienced in 2018, we must put behind us and move forward. Let's think Bigger and Better in the 2019 section of our writing journey.
